The characterization is spot on, as you really get a feel for who each of the characters are within their world. The storyline is very fluid and intriguing. It is a short story, so I will not go into any detail as to the story arc because to do so I could wind up giving away a few of the well placed plot twists.

Teeth A Fable is my first experience with the fictional work of Shana Hammaker. I was floored. The language of the short story flows so well and naturally. These characters have depth that is usually lacking in stories in a short format.
Part urban-fantasy with a twist of grittiness, part trial-suspense, part-examination of class issues, this story did not fail in any way.
I will most certainly be purchasing the rest of the series.

A horror tale told in a great voice and with just the right twist of dark humor. Harley is a sympathetic main character that you grow to understand as events unfolds. Overall, an awesome bite of superior storytelling.
I didn't expect "Teeth A Fable" to bring me 'round to an oh-so-familiar classic concept that's supposed to be good and wholesome...but it did! -)
It reminded me of a really dark version of a fairytale, with some disturbing comedy ;-)
Not only that, but the characterization was so great; both the main characters had such distinct personalities and dialogue, that you knew them within a few lines. The sooner you get to know the characters the better, because from there the read zipped through, didn't stop once until I was finished!
As with most of Shana's "twist" stories I don't want to give anything away, but well-written, "alive" characters and unique in the art of "disturbing"...definitely worth checking out -)
Everyone loves a good Fable right? Hell a game called Fable sold millions of copies. I went into this slowly thinking like Teeth the movie but was not even close.
This was nothing like I was thinking and I loved every moment of it. It was an unexpected tale with a unique take on the reasons behind things and why and who's will surprise you. An adult take on where our childhood tales could end up and how they could affect us now.
As a fan of the book Santa Steps Out this rang in the same vein but with its own voice and outlook.
