First, I'll say that the stories in this series are definitely good. After all, I read ALL of the books. The characters are well drawn and the non-humans are original. The stories move along at a good pace and consistently good your interest. So why only three stars? The editing of these books is terrible. Malaprops abound. Wrong versions of "to" and "there" pop up too often. If that stuff bothers you, the you'll be rattled pretty often while reading these books.
Caveat emptor.

Frostborn The Gray Knight Frostborn #1 eBook Jonathan Moeller Reviews
Huge fan of Tolkien so I try to find similar good reading in the fantasy genre which is almost always a disappointment. However, this is not with really interesting characters, good plot and lovely villains and mythological critters galore. I am planning on reading the next ones as long as they keep my interest. I highly recommend!
Very enjoyable fantasy novel with orcs, dwarves, humans and so on. Excellent dialogue and characters, good setup to what is lined up to be a series to save the world from the Frostborn, beings destroyed centuries earlier who seem ready to return. Look forward to continuing the series. Did note several editing mistakes.
The story itself is very exciting with a lot of action. The main characters are all strong-willed and capable. But, there is a serious need for editing. The book was free but I could see it being full priced in the future after the quality is improved.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sword and sorcery tales. Hopefully, the author will edit the next book better.
Seems like a great story but i can't get over the fact that all the characters talk the same. Kobolds, orcs, humans all speak like very well educated people with no personality. Ugh, frustrating
I'm generally not a fan of books with lots of weird creatures (I really would prefer not to read about orcs and dwarves, much less giant spider beings and lizard men and ape-wolves, etc.). However, the author writes a compelling and fun story and the main characters - Ridmark and Calliande - are compelling enough that I keep wanting to find out what happens to them next even if it's a bit repetitive (Ridmark's gonna whack some evil creature over the head with his quarter-staff).
This book was recommended for me by , so I read it on a whim. I enjoyed the story immensely, but mispellings, wrong tenses, odd paragraph formatting, and random words showing up in the midst of a sentence made it a frustrating read. I am going to try the next book in the series, but if the proofreading and editing isn't any better there I would be hard pressed to carry on with the series.
By now I have read 5 book in the series. The first book starts off decent enough; although in later books the main hero becomes more super-hero like that has a harem of sidekicks along for the ride. However, the editing (grammar and plot) in this series is terrible even by Jonathan's rather slack standards. Several times I had to go back and re-read sections of the book because the meaning was complete gibberish. This is not great fiction, but its a quick and fun read.
Accept it as pulp fantasy of the dime novel.
